Resources > Bioethics
This section provides access to several introductory texts to bioethics. Some of these texts include bibliographies. These texts are suitable for a quick introduction to the field, but don't provide a thorough discussion of the many challenges raised by human biotechnologies.
For a more in-depth discussion of ethical questions consider visiting some of the portals. They are more difficult to navigate, but provide considerably more information on a broad variety of topics.
Of some interest to the initiated and non-initiated alike are the web sites of two presidential commissions, President Clinton's National Bioethics Advisory Commission (NBAC) and the President's Council on Bioethics, established by President George W. Bush in November of 2001. Both contain a wealth of materials and information on ethical questions, mostly targeted to policy makers.
The online library at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University is perhaps the best online resource for professional ethicists and the general public.
